Abstract:
A Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) is a critical component in RF receiver front-end design, playing a crucial role in determining overall system sensitivity and signal integrity. Its primary function is to amplify weak incoming signals while minimizing additional noise.
This talk will cover key concepts related to noise and LNA, including Noise Figure, Noise Temperature, LNA matching, different gain definitions (gain, transducer gain, and available gain), and stability.
Additionally, a circuit simulation using Keysight Advanced Design System (ADS) will be presented, presenting LNA design, simulation, and performance analysis.
Bio:
Sang Yun Han completed his Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at Yonsei University. His research focuses on Active Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces in Microwave Integrated Circuits and Systems Lab under Professor Byung-Wook Min. He was a visiting student in the UCSD Applied Electromagnetics Group under Professor Daniel Sievenpiper. His research interests include phased arrays, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces, and stability analysis.
